About Waco Housing Authority

The Housing Authority of the City of Waco (WHA) and Affiliates began providing affordable housing for the citizens of Waco in 1938.

The Waco Housing Authority is committed to providing decent, safe and sanitary housing to the residents of Waco, Texas and the surrounding areas.


Mission Statement

Our mission began as simply providing decent, safe and sanitary shelter for citizens of Waco regardless of their income. Over the years, WHA has diligently accomplished and expanded our mission. Today our mission is not only to provide quality renovated housing by today.s standard. We also coordinate, develop and offer cultural enrichment, child development, adult education, drug rehabilitation, and homeownership programs to enable our clients to become self sufficient.
